Is there a way to access the report data of the PDF from the API?
For example, if I download the PDF, can I retrieve and work with the data from it without having to make multiple or separate calls?
Thanks for bearing with us while we researched this @jweber_126. I've confirmed with my team that exporting a copy of the PDF with every line item is not possible through the API, sorry about that.
Adding this functionality isn't on our roadmap at this time, but if things were to change in that regard I'll reach out and let you know!
Hi again @jweber_126 - I'm not aware of any way this is possible with our API, I believe you will need to make separate calls for each piece of data, but I've asked if anybody of our Integrations Engineers know any different and I'll get back to you if that's the case.
For reference, what exactly were you looking to pull?
I want to pull both report data and a pdf report in one call so they can be stored together in our system.
That way, I don't have to spin my wheels to create a scripts to join the two.
So, say there's 5 reports that are open in Expensify. I want to make a call out to Expensify from our system that will pull one report at a time with both the column/row data and it's coordinating PDF as sort of an attachment. So, each column/row data will have come with an attached PDF.
That way, I don't need to write 500 lines of code to make one call out to get the column row data, another call to get the PDF, and then write a script that joins the column row data with its PDF relation.
Thanks for the great context @jweber_126 - I'm working with my team on this. Right now I'm not aware of a way to make this work as you're requesting but I'll make sure and let you know.
