Emails not showing up in account

I began experiencing this a few months ago and have been working around it but I'd like to get it resolved. When I forward an email with an attached receipt, it now just bounces right back to me and I get another copy of it in my inbox. The receipt never shows up in my Expensify account to be smart scanned. If I download the receipt from the email, then upload it manually, it works as expected.
