Gusto Integration - Can I choose only certain employees to use Expensify?

Hey guys,
We currently use Expensify and I am considering linking our Gusto payroll account with Expensify. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to only allow certain employees access to Expensify? Or will it only let me invite the entire list of employees on our Gusto account?
Essentially, we only use Expensify for our people that travel frequently or have corporate cards, so we don't want to offer the service and pay for employees who won't be using it.
Thanks,
-Kieran

Hi @kiernan, thanks for posting and welcome to the Community. When using the Gusto integration, we'll import all full-time and active employees during the sync.
If employees who don't need to use Expensify are added to the policy, as long as they don't log into their account and add expenses you will never be charged for them. You would only see these employees in the billing if they were active in their accounts.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

I have a similar situation as above but wanted to see if it is possible to add contractors in addition to the full time employees?

Hi @safetybobsf Welcome to the Expensify Community! - How are these contractors set up in Gusto? Are they full-time and active?

Hi @RachCHopkins Thanks for the welcome! The contractors in question are all listed as active but there is a mixture of both full-time and part-time people. So to be clear, they are listed in the "people" section, but under the Contractors tab, not the Employee tab.
On a side note, I realize some former contractors are still listed as active status even though they have not been paid in at least a few pay cycles. I assume best practice would be to switch them to inactive, correct? This is no way effects year-end tax reporting, etc.?
Thanks for your assistance!

Hi @safetybobsf ,
Unfortunately, we are not able to import people listed under the Contractors tab. The reason for this is that we are not able to access Contractor tab information in Gusto accounts. So at the moment, the integration is only able to import people listed in the Employees tab.
I can't really advise you on how to use Gusto or on accounting practices, sorry.
