Custom fields and API

Our firm uses Sage Intacct and has some dropdowns on expenses driven by that system (e.g., locations, departments). Are these expensify custom fields and if using the API expense creator, should I be able to specify these values? If so, how do I determine what the field name is of these fields so I can? If not, it seems like a large oversight by Expensify. I don't want systematically create expense reports for all my employees only to create a bunch of manual, inefficient data entry for them
