One of out account managers is having issues with his mileage GPS tracker. He says the app stops working mid-way and is not giving the correct amount of miles. We have made sure he was stays in phone service, has updated his app, and never closes out of the app while it is running. Please advise on how we can fix this.

Attached is an error message from his phone he keeps getting.

Hi @LexiP, that's certainly odd. Creating GPS mileage expenses on the app should not show this message unless, as stated, the app was closed during that time, either by the user, or by the device (power saving or offloading the app to save battery/memory respectively).

It would be ideal if you could have the Account Manager in question reach out to [email protected] in order to diagnose exactly what might be happening here, as the team will need to check some specific phone settings and logs for the individual in question.

Have them reach out and quote this Community post, but in the meantime a few things to make sure of are:

    • Make sure you're not swiping the app closed and that if you do exit the app, the banner still shows the Expensify app tracking your location
    • You have Location Services enabled for Expensify below indicated are the settings for iOS, but for Android phones, you'll want to query the exact setting for your handset. A quick Google search will do the trick for that.
