How-to: Send Trainline receipts to your Expensify account

Automate the process of getting reimbursed for your rail travel tickets by using the Trainline mobile app together with Expensify for a seamless expense reporting journey!

Get the Apps

To begin, both the Trainline and Expensify mobile apps should be installed on your smartphone:

Expensify for iOS, and for Android.

Trainline for iOS, and for Android.

When you book your tickets through Trainline, if you choose to send your ticket to the Trainline app a receipt can be found attached to it.

When viewing your ticket receipt in the app, you can send it straight to Expensify and we will begin SmartScanning it to create a new expense.

How it Works

  1. Open the Trainline app and navigate to the My Tickets tab
  2. At the bottom of your ticket, tap Manage my booking
  3. Then hit Expense receipt
  4. Use the Send to Expensify option to open the Expensify app and begin SmartScanning!

FAQs and Troubleshooting

I don't have the option for "Send to Expensify", why is that?

Expensify depends on the native iOS Mail app being installed on your device if you're using an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch.

If you've chosen to remove this from your device, don't fret! You can still use the native iOS share to Expensify function for your Trainline receipts!
