This should be a priority feature, basically you have a business card, use it, get workflow approval for expenses with expensify, then the reimbursement should go back to the card used for simplicity sake....
Hi @creilly Welcome to the Expensify Community!
Yes, there are some complications to do with the technicalities of a 'refund' to a card vs a 'deposit' to a regular bank account, as third parties cannot make regular 'deposits' to a credit card account. But we are definitely interested in this Idea and will explore further!
@bkaye what would be very helpful here, from yourself and everyone voting, is to hear the exact scenarios that this would be helpful, and an outline of the problem you are looking to solve! 😀
I just seems strange to not be able to pay a credit card bill from your system since people use credit cards to create expenses, then forward receipts or pull credit card expenses to go through expensify approval process. As it stands now, you use ACH to reimburse to a bank then the user has to xfer money back to the card via check or electronic xfer.
That is true @creilly , it does seem weird. But when you think about it, the credit card bill is just another bill to pay, it is really just a coincidence that you might import transactions from the same card and use it to pay Expensify as a 'Merchant'. There are certain things that Merchants can and cannot do - a Merchant can refund a transaction made with them, back to your card, but a Merchant cannot make a payment on the card balance on your behalf.
But, we are currently exploring a lot of different options around all of this, so hearing what issue you are wanting to solve would help strengthen any case for creating this feature!
