Transaction import from Wells Fargo paused. Please visit our status page for more details and to subscribe to updates.
This would allow only the person concerned to get the comment - mainly the reporter in our company's case where a Report goes through approval levels. Managers most of the time don't need to see comments
We are working on something that will incorporate this!
Hi @Aussiebandit, loving all the great ideas you've been sharing! We're updating the status of this to "Gathering use cases" so that we can hear from more users with similar needs.
Concur with this idea!
Yes please. Currently you need to add someone to the report in order to view the comment. @mention could do this and then send them the message.
I really like this idea. I've even tried to do it a few times.
I think it would also be helpful to add an @ mention in the line item of an expense as well. This way employees could be tagged on an individual expense.
@tylerzoll what you are asking for a separate thing. Can you add a new idea?
@mention in comments (this idea) is to facilitate communication in the platform as close to the details of the transaction as possible (as opposed to emailing someone outside the platform)
What you are asking for sounds like tagging other people to an expense line item in the comments for that item (for example: a team dinner where you add the comment that "Jim, Katie, Silvia, & Tyler were at the dinner). If this is the case, this is the new idea. Also FYI - I think Expensify has explored this but decided against it. But if we think its a good idea, lets let them know!
@Daveweez, I agree. I'll add that as a separate idea. I are about this idea more than adding the mention to line level items.
Hey @tylerzoll check this one out:https://community.expensify.com/discussion/483/how-to-specify-attendees-for-meal-expenses#latest
Maybe @Sheena Trepanier can give more info on what they are exploring.
@Daveweez, I believe I saw this thread and added the comment to this page. Honestly I don’t really know where it would go besides the mention. Would someone get an email? Someone approve? I don’t see this exporting well into accounting software. Idk. I just thought it would be nice to mention someone on the line level, not much more thought than that.
Agree, managers rarely need to see many of the comments.
One issue we have with comments is a lot of our reports are submitted by copilots and they aren’t notified when a comment is made unless we share the report with them. @mentions would really help.
