Expensify is a great tool, but setup can be a little daunting if you're not sure what you're doing. If you're not sure where to start, or where to go next, you're in the right place!

Things to keep in mind: 

  • The creator of a group policy is a Policy Billing Owner by default. 

  • The policy creator will have Inbox Tasks to help guide them through setting up the new group policy. 

  • Each Inbox Task will include a Demo and an option to Call an Expensify Guide who will help you configure your group policy. 
  • Completing all of the Inbox Tasks will extend your free trial up to 6 weeks. 

Creating your first policy

To create a new group policy go to Settings > Policies > Group > New Policy. You'll have an option to choose between creating a Collect or Control plan. Not sure which plan to choose, click Learn more... to be redirected to our pricing page



Connecting to your accounting system


We offer direct integrations with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite (Token or SSO), Xero, Sage Intacct, and FinancialForce (FFA and PSA/SRP). Using something else? We've got you covered. We offer custom accounting templates so you can export exactly what you need from Expensify. Concierge will walk you through all the options!

Note: NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Financial Force, and the other custom accounting templates are only available with the Collect plan, you'll need to upgrade in order to connect to every option available!

Add a withdrawal account

If you're a US customer, you'll love our ACH reimbursement. Pay employees back in as little as one business day with rapid reimbursement! Outside the US? You'll just mark those reports as "reimbursed" when they're paid externally.

When you log in, this is where you will go to see your "to-do" list from Concierge for any reports that require action. Need to approve a report? Forgot to reimburse an employee? We've got it all nice and tidy in a handy list here.

Your Inbox tasks are also available to you on your mobile device. You can go through policy set up tasks or complete your "to-do" list from the palm of your hands.

Your employees will rely on these extremely handy features for their quick receipt management. If employees receive receipts via email, no need to screenshot and upload! Simply forward that receipt to [email protected] from an email connected to their Expensify account, and it will be updated to your account!
