UPDATE: It seems I can no longer edit my original post above from this morning so I will add more facts here.To be clear, the scan above was taken with the receipt at the top of the camera view screen. After further tests, I discovered the Expensify camera app is also chopping off two inches from the bottom of the image as well.I also changed camera settings to different resolutions and aspect ratios - no luck. I also changed my phone's display settings for Screen Zoom (no zoom) and the lowest resolution the phone display it supports - 1480x720. However, it didn't seem to make any difference. In other words, when I scan a receipt with the Expensify camera app, it is cropping (cutting off) two inches from the top and the bottom the image.BTW - Hoping it would help, I just uninstalled the Expensify app, restarted the phone, and then reinstalled the app, v8.5.1.1DEVICE: Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Android Security Patch Level: December 1, 2019Yes - I know about and can use the workarounds but it is weird that it suddenly started doing this.Best wishes to all.

I am also experiencing this issue.
Pixel 2 Android 10
Expensify app 8.5.4.1 -
I'm also having this issue.
Expensify suggests taking a picture of your receipts as soon as you get it so you don't have to go carrying around your receipts. I'm now down about $100 because the receipt pictures don't have the required information and I no longer have the originals.
It's pretty bad that something so critical can pass testing.
However this was also an issue about a year ago, it's pretty appalling that this regression has happened again without being caught.
I really don't want to go back to hoarding all my receipts but the app isn't much use if I can't trust it with critical information.

I'm also seeing this, it's very annoying that I have to keep retaking pictures until the whole document is fully captured but also not too small.- Samsung Galaxy S10e
- Android 10 (January patch)
- Latest expensify app (8.5.4.1, but has been happening for a while with several updates in between) -

Hi @sandyrandypandy, @jfranchetti & @Baloo! Thank you for reaching out to let us know you are experiencing issues with the Android mobile app.
We are still working on a fix for the Android camera cropping a receipt image too severely. In the meantime, you should be able to take a photo of your receipt using your phone's camera and then load that for SmartScan or upload the image via the web app.
It sounds like you are describing situations that are slightly different than the known issue @SBDavin described above.
To help me confirm if you are all experiencing the same issue, will you please send us an email to [email protected] with some screenshots of what you see?
I look forward to getting more details from each of you at [email protected] so I can make sure to get things back on track. Thanks!

Yes, this is happening with about 50% of my photos. On an android LG Phoenix 4. I have to go in and manually edit many of the scans because it cuts off the vendor name.

Has this been fixed?
