Expensify.org/hunger to reimburse families in need during COVID-19 crisis

It said March 1st receipts

How long does it take to get accepted in the hunger policy group? I also don't have my receipts anymore. I cleaned out my car and threw them out on accident. I saw on another post something about posting a screenshot of the ebt transaction screen.? Is that true ? Will that work? If not I have $51 left and plan to go shop in the morning for essentials. With the kids home from school the grocery budget has skyrocketed.

The very first post in this thread by David Barrett outlining the procedure does not list a receipt date at all either.
The line
" Heads up: We will only be accepting receipts for goods purchased from March 1st onwards."
was not on the website https://www.expensify.org/hunger when I submitted my receipt.
That line was added either after 10:23 am 03/18/20 or at a later date.
I have since submitted a newer receipt irregardless.

Hi i submitted my receipt but did not see the option to choose volunteer reimbursement as a category please help thank you.

Hi everyone - thanks for writing in! I wanted to quickly go through a couple of things so everyone has some context. Our team are currently in the process of approving and reimbursing SNAP reports, but please bear with us - there are a lot of reports coming through and it may take a couple of days for you to receive a response around your reimbursement!
Having said that, for the most successful chance to be reimbursed, please ensure that you have done the following:
- You've added your personal bank account to your Account Settings
- Your Report is under the Hunger Policy
- Your Report is in the Processing status
Here's how to check that you're submitting under the correct Policy (and how to select the Hunger Policy via the mobile app):
If your Report has been Closed, then it's likely that you may have submitted it before it was added to the Hunger Policy. If that's the case, you can re-create your Report using the same receipt.
Here's a screenshot which shows a Closed Report which won't be reimbursed as it is not under the Hunger Policy (check out the Report History and Comments for a full audit trail of actions taken on this Report):
Thanks for your patience everyone!

I have the fresh EBT app that should definitely work right???
-
I hope I sent my receipt correctly! It is extremely confusing on how to send the receipts for the SNAP reimbursement.... Is there anyway for someone to make sure I did it correctly????
-
How long does it take for to be accepted in the hunger group?

Hi there, I just wanted to remind users to reach out to [email protected] if you have any queries specific to your account, or you want a member of our team to look into your account.
@Corrin we accept Fresh EBT receipts but if you have concerns over the app please contact them directly.
@Buddybuck00 It may take 24 hours to be accepted to the policy. We are experiencing a high level of volume and are working as fast as we can to approve users!
@Mangokiwy30 It looks like you submitted the receipt to your individual policy and not the expensify.org/hunger policy. Please open the report, select Undo Close. Then resubmit on the correct policy. Once again, please reach out to [email protected] if you run into difficulty.
Thank you!

Hey @MaryAnne! Happy to take a peek! It looks like the reports were submitted to a policy other than the Expensify.org/hunger group policy. I can help you get things back on track!
When you have a moment, will each of you please sign-in to your account on a web app at www.expensify.com.
1) Then please go to the Reports page and click on that Closed report.
2) Click Undo Close at the top of the page.
3) Once the Report is Open (not closed) you'll want to click on the policy drop-down on the right side of the page and move the report to Expensify.org/hunger policy.
Here's a screenshot with what this will look like:
4) Click Submit to submit the report to the Expensify.org/hunger group policy.
5) We'll review the report and follow up with you!

Hi @Lorraine_12_1w, you're almost there! Will you follow the steps in this support article to submit the report to us? We'll review the report and get back to you. Thanks!

Can we show a transaction from February via the EBT app or does it need to be from March?
-
@Christina Dobryzynski I'm afraid to push submit and it close I have no way to reopen it if does
Edit to add that I think I finally got it hopefully it's approved soon

Hello my name is Tracey or Treyzee and I am not sure if I did everything correctly. Could someone please help me. I do not see the choice for me to to send to Exspensify.org/hunger. Everything else looks like the example I see. Help!

Hi everyone,
Your Reports are in the "Processing" state because they are being looked at by our team.
We will endeavour to get the reimbursements out to you as soon as possible but as you can imagine, there has been huge uptake with this, and our team is only small so we are doing our best to work through these as quickly as we can, using the funds available to us.
As long as you followed the Instructions on https://www.expensify.org/hunger your submission should be accepted. As a reminder:
- We are reimbursing up to $50 per family
- You must purchase groceries using your SNAP (EBT) card and save the receipt!
- The receipt must be dated from 1st March
- The SmartScanned expense must contain the following details:
- Merchant name = “Merchant name”
- Total = Change to $50 if the EBT purchase amount is greater than $50
- Category = Volunteer Reimbursement
- Class = Expensify.org/hunger
- Description = “Purchase with SNAP card”
- Receipt image = Image of the receipt with a clearly legible total of SNAP benefits used.
In Regards to Reports in a Closed State (as mentioned about by @JasonLi, but here again for clarity):
If your Report has been Closed, then it's likely that you may have submitted it before it was added to the Hunger Policy. If that's the case, you can re-create your Report using the same receipt.
Here's a screenshot which shows a Closed Report which won't be reimbursed as it is not under the Hunger Policy (check out the Report History and Comments for a full audit trail of actions taken on this Report):
Thank you!

Hi @David43
Would you be able to access a computer rather than using the app? You can submit your receipt via web at www.expensify.com
Thank you!
-
Hi there Lashanda_Wilder76
Whilst we would love to help, we are limiting this to SNAP recipients at this time.
I am really sorry and hope that you are able to get the help you need!

Hi @Nikki2829 - see Zany's summary post but we are focussing on people affected from March:
The receipt must be dated from 1st March
Keep safe!

We wanted to thank you for making this reimbursement to SNAP beneficiaries available! We've shared it with our community via Facebook, and the post we set up has been hugely popular! Shared dozens of times! https://www.facebook.com/crtct/photos/a.540780109319795/3003302859734162/?type=3&theater

I did this on saturday 3/21/20 i sent a physical receipt from BJs. Everything went smooth. The company was so quick to reimburse. You have to fill it out exactly as they say so they can process it correctly. It truly was a miracle during this dark time. I'm in new york suffolk county and its bad. I had nothing on my SNAP card and dont get more till the 5th of April. This was like winning the lotto for me. You have helped a 3 year old toddler and 9 month old baby who desperately needs formula. All the WIC formulas I'm allowed to get on my card people bought up with cash. Leaving me with no way to get any because i cant pay cash..now with this money i can get her formula and my son Milk and juice we also get on WIC. Thank you so much. You all are the best like angels during this difficult time. Not only have you helped my kids but you gave this single mom peace of mind that i can get my kids the items they need and that is priceless. Thank you again.

My receipt from February got rejected. I resubmitted a new March receipt and am waiting to see what happens.

I have submitted a receipt for the SNAP reimbursement. It is currently "waiting for Expensify.org Volunteer to approve these expenses." In my Inbox I am still asked to add my banking information, Which I have done several times and it is goes to a screen stating "Your account has been successfully linked to Expensify." At this point there is a "continue" link which when selected takes me to a screen requiring my "Expensify Password". I was never asked to set up a password because I log in to Expensify by linking to my Google account. (Google and Bank passwords do not work in this space) I have been unable to locate an area on the Expensify website or app where I can add a password. I see others have had the same issue, but no answers have been provided.
Is this a necessary step in receiving the reimbursement? If so, how can I set up the required password?
-
@mdudek80 Could you please reach out to [email protected] with the information provided above? This will allow us to look further into the issues you are encountering. Thanks!
-
Mine was submitted on 3/21 and still says processing but I've seen others that were submitted that day and they have already been reimbursed. What else do I have to do?
-
Is it possible to have the reimbursement deposited to either a prepaid debit card or to a bank account that is in someone else's name?
-
@Jami82, can you please reach out to c[email protected] so we can look into this for you? Thanks!
-
Ariel Green, it said that address doesn't exist.. So what do I do now?
-
Hey @Jami82,
Can you double check that you are entering [email protected] correctly? If that email isn't working for you, you can also reach out directly from the built-in messaging system in the app or website.
-
I've been processing since the 21st 😭😭😭
