Update Expense

hi - is there a way to update an expense via the API once it has been sent. I would have assumed I could use the externalID to match to the right expense but don't see this code in the API document. has anyone done this?

i would like to update the category and tags of an expense i have already created. can this be done?

Hey @galbus, once the expense has been created (via the expense creator), it can't be updated via the API. Can you tell me a little more about what part of your process is involved in creating and updating expenses via the API?

we will be creating expenses from our system to expensify and sometimes a user may need to make an update. so there is no way to modify an existing expense? is this on your roadmap? feels like it would be a common request.

Hi there, @galbus! Once the expense is created in the user's account via the API, they can update the expense directly within Expensify. Could that work for you?

no since that would mean the systems would be out of sync. it would be much better if we could push modifications through the api to ensure the data always matches.
