How to add sub categories in bulk

I have searched the community and found an answer for adding sub categories individually but not in bulk.
I need to add about 100 sub categories. I am wondering if there is a way to import them from an excel spreadhseet or if I need to enter them individually!
I would appreciate any insights.

Yes, you can import them from spreadsheet. To get the template, head over to Settings > Policies > Group > [Policy name]. From there, head to Categories then click Export to CSV. To add a subcategory, use the top-level category name followed by a colon, then the subcategory name. So you might have something like this, where Advertising is a subcategory of Marketing:
Finally, save your spreadsheet and then go back to the Categories section, click Import from Spreadsheet, map the columns, and you should be good to go!

Thank you for the quick response. If I have 4 sub categories, would I have one main row for the category and 4 more rows for the sub categories? If I have advertising, Social Media, print and video as the 4 sub categories, would I have a total of 5 rows?

Hi @smartDigs! Yep, that is correct.
So 5 total, like this:
Social Media
Social Media: sub category 1
Social Media: sub category 2
Social Media: sub category 3
Social Media: sub category 4
