Introducing Concierge Travel!

As the world slowly begins to recover from the effects of COVID-19, we understand that some people may need to travel again for work. Expensify is making it easier and safer for business travelers through an exciting new feature: Concierge Travel.

What is it?

Concierge Travel is like having an assistant in your pocket - just tell Concierge where you need to be, and we’ll book your flights, hotels, and car rentals for you in one simple chat.

For individuals, Concierge remembers your preferred airline, seat, and hotel as well as your frequent flyer, TSA PreCheck, and loyalty numbers so you can sit back and relax. Company admins can customize their company rules and determine flight class, hotel rating, and other group-wide preferences. Admins can also create travel summary reports for visibility on where and when employees are traveling.

Concierge Travel users also earn Karma Points – for every trip booked using the Expensify card, Expensify donates to a relevant cause. Currently, Expensify.org is concentrating all of its charitable funds to match SNAP grocery purchases (up to $50 per family) during the COVID-19 crisis.

How does it work?

Start a new chat with Concierge on the Expensify mobile app or on the Expensify website and tell us where you’d like to go. It’s that easy!

Concierge Travel is exclusively available to Expensify cardholders. 

Complimentary Global Rescue

With each round-trip flight booked with Concierge Travel, we’re also offering free access to Global Rescue so you can travel with peace of mind. Domestic travelers will get field rescue, medical and security advisory, as well as emergency transportation, while international travelers get all of that plus a detailed health and security assessment for their destination country.  If you are traveling to a city or country that has any COVID-related restrictions, Concierge will let you know before finalizing your booking.

    1. How do you get it to avoid middle seat booking?
    2. How do you get it to prioritize first class (some people are too tall/wide for coach)?
    3. How do you get it to prioritize placement in the plane (some people prefer to be in the front, some in the middle, etc.)
    4. How do you get it to book trains (some travel doesn't make sense on a plane because it's less than a few hundred miles)?
    5. How do you get it to prioritize certain airlines (goes to frequent flyer)?
    6. How do you get it to avoid certain plane types (most won't be flying old, long-past-retirement plane models)?
    7. How do you get it to avoid Frontier (nickel and diming, terrible service, old planes, etc.)?
    8. How do you get it to book at certain hotel chains (contract)?
    9. How do you get it NOT to book at other hotels (cost)?
    10. How do you get it to book co-workers together (close seating on plane, close hotel rooms, one rental car per trip, etc.)?
    11. How do you get it to allow exceptions to rental car rules (for this trip 6 people are traveling so an SUV is appropriate, for this trip two people are traveling but the amount of luggage warrants a luxury vehicle, etc.)?

    Hi @CaptainMarcus! Great questions!

    One thing to note is that Concierge will be doing the booking for you, so if you have any specifications (first class, aisle seat etc) you just need to say! If there is a certain airline you'd like us to avoid for you, just tell us that once, and we'll make a note so that you don't need to tell us every time you need a booking.
