That's correct @edison, it's not possible to block submission via API.

Hi @edison! Thanks for reaching out! If possible, can you provide some additional context into the criteria you mentioned? For example, Do you not want reports to be submitted before or after certain dates, if there are violations in place, etc?

Hey @Cortney Ofstad ! My current use case is to prevent submission if the total $$$ amount has exceeded a particular number over a non-calendar fiscal year. Hopefully we could issue a notification to the user on why it happened too.

Hey @edison, there's no way to generate violations or block report submission based on a year budget. It is possible to set up violations in the policy per-expense or per-day. You can also set these up as hard-stop violations to prevent submission, which you can learn more about here.
