You may not know the difference between a ‘verified’ and ‘unverified’ domain in Expensify, but to cut a long story short, we’ve just made it easier for those with a simple ‘unverified’ setup to manage their Expensify Cards.

Until now, those with an unverified domain setup had to set Expensify Card Smart limits in bulk from an Inbox task and then alter them one-by-one after this point. As of this week, you can utilise Domain Groups to update the limits in bulk any time you see fit!

If you have Expensify Cards, you’ll now see two default Domain Groups under Settings > Domains > [Domain Name] > Groups and you can set a different limit for each. Managers are any Expensify users who approve reports. Employees are any users who submit reports but do not approve other users’ reports.

For those who do have a ‘verified’ domain, you’ll notice that this functionality also makes it significantly easier to bulk-set Smart Limits by your Domain Groups! You can simply edit the Smart Limit directly on the Domain Groups page:

If your domain is not ‘verified’ and you’d like extra management features like hard-stop expense violations, group restrictions, user management and SAML SSO, you can ‘verify’ your domain. Check out this guide if you’d like to know how the full functionality of Domain Groups works, and feel free to go ahead and verify your Domain!
