Credit Card Import Question

We have employees charging the company credit card for small amounts, usually for meals/gas. We are not concerned with expense limits being too high/low and would like to leave that aspect alone for now. What we would like to track however is which clients our employees were purchasing meals/gas on behalf of, in real time, and have that sync up with our quickbooks file as well. Can we accomplish this using the Credit Card Import? Thank you!

Hey @MPB
Yes, you can definitely do this. As there are a few different ways to achieve this, I would advise you checking out our help guides on:
Setting up categories and setting up tags to see which method works best for you.
Within those documents, you'll also see smart features we have that ensure your employees complete all the information you need to know about the expense, the client it was on behalf of, or any other information - such as a "Rule Enforcement" feature in Categories.
You can also import any existing categories or tags from your accounting system.
Feel free to reach out if you have other questions!

Thank you for the response. we are already using categories for expense types (lodging, meals, gas etc) so I think Tagging would make more sense for tracking expenses on a client level. can the tag options be imported from a CSV? We have a few hundred clients to choose from....

Hi @MPB
Yes - you can upload them via the "Import From Spreadsheet" button within the "Tags" section of the Policy!
Thanks!

great! so how will it work - employee charges company credit card, is prompted to scan his receipt, and then tag to a particular client?

HI @MPB
I'd advise checking out the help doc on how to set up tags which I shared above, as that explains the process the admin needs to follow to ensure tags are set up according to how you would like them.
Regarding how the employee uses company cards and tags the expense, this will also depend on how you have your company cards enabled. If you're using some new parts of Expensify, I'd advise watching the webinars on Admin Controls and Company Cards to make sure you get all the basics covered off.
Thanks!
