Can we set up expense categories with General Ledger numbers?

We would like each category to include a GL number so we can use an API to import this information correctly into Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Business Central.

You would likely need to use the tags function for this, unless your Chart of Accounts is extremely small.

We wanted to use the category function similarly, but found that it wouldn't support how we have our chart of accounts set up. Some of the segments are dependent on one another, so Tags was ultimately the way to make that happen.

    Hope this helps!

@TTFusa -- The ability to add GLs to categories is available on a Control policy only. If you're going to use Collect, the GL would need to be added to the name of the category but I don't think that would be the better fit.

If you'd like to reach out to Concierge we can chat more about the specifics of your setup and needs. Cheers!
