Worst Service Ever

Signed up for a free plan. They forced a "free" trial on me. Trial period ends, and now I can't use anything because I have an outstanding balance. Says I need to downgrade but I can't do that until I delete the original policy. I can't delete the policy because of the balance. I never added any payment info or authorized any charges.

"Sign up for our free plan! Add your information! Now you owe us money and we're holding your data hostage until you pay!!!"

Spent 45 minutes going back and forth with support. They kept insisting that I needed to sign up for a subscription and pay my outstanding balance to proceed.

The policy in question has 0 activity. No reports, no receipts, no submissions, nothing. I don't use anything except the most basic of free features. They wouldn't budge on waiving the fee.

How in the world did I accrue charges on a plan I never authorized? And why would they even let me use paid services after the free trial (which I can't even find any proof of) without adding payment information?!?

What a scam.

Hi @ProfessorTango sorry for the delay in responding - your post is in the Expensify.Org channel. All accounts are free (free trial) unless you create a paid Policy. When you create a paid Policy, we also give you about 6 weeks' worth of free use, depending on which "free trial" inbox tasks you complete.

When your free trial ends, we remind you to add a payment card and you can downgrade from the Inbox task at that point (I see this inbox task is visible in your Inbox)

I see you own a free Workspace and a paid Control Policy which you are not using so I think you are safe to hit Downgrade there, which will delete the paid policy. I've gone ahead and cleared that balance in case it was causing technical issues.

I'll track down your chat and provide feedback internally, sorry for the experience there!

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
