The ability to export receipt images to PDF by sorting and choosing via filters.
Also receipts should export to QB desktop just like they export to QBO.
Hi @krichardson Welcome to the Expensify Community!
Can you tell me a little more about your use case where you need to export receipts to a PDF other than the expense Report itself?
With the latter, I believe this is a system limitation with QuickBooks Desktop and that connection is not actively being enhanced right now.
I really want to be able to have receipts go with the interface to QB desktop. However, the other part is being able to look at expenses in Expensify and filter based on date, person, customer and then choose which to export into a PDF. Right now I can export the entire expense report into a PDF, but I don't always need to bill out the entire expense report and sometimes I am billing different items from various expense reports. Very similar to the requests I was reading that have been around since 2018 asking for a similar option.
I'm not clear what you mean by "go with the interface to QB desktop" can you rephrase that for me?
Also, you are able to filter and select tick box on expenses to export to CSV, but not PDF.
See below for how to do this!
I am speaking on sending the pictures of the actual receipts with the interface of expense posting to QB.
I want to be able to filter expenses the same way you are showing except not to export the expense to a CSV, but to be able to export the actual receipt images too. Not links to images, but actual images. Clients want copies of receipts when being billed for reimbursement.
@krichardson Thanks for clarifying! There isn't a way to export line item expenses into a PDF (in the exact way your described), but I'm thinking there might be a better workflow for you given your needs.
Just to confirm, it sounds like (1) you incur billable expenses that you wish to send to clients. and (2) you need to export and share the billable receipt as a PDF with clients. Am I following you correctly?
If so, I wanted to ask if you considered an approach where you do the following:
I will try this and let you know how it works
@krichardson Sounds good!
