Classify receipts at time of forwarding them to Expensify
It'd be great if when forwarding a receipt to Expensify, one could add text that Expensify would detect to classify the account and department and fill in description.
i.e. When forwarding a receipt, a user could add a text line either in the subject header or in the body of the email and perhaps items between the symbol # would be detected.
Example:
# GL acct, Dept., Description #
# Office Expense, General Admin. Dept, notebooks #

Hey there, @MaryW! Thanks for sharing this idea in the community! We don't currently do exactly what you're suggesting, but we do something pretty similar called Implicit Categorization.
Essentially, Expensify will learn how you categorize certain merchants and then automatically apply that category to the same merchant in the future.
Could that be helpful here?

Yes, I'm familiar with setting up Expense Rules. However, that's better suited for if you have a merchant that is "only" classified as one GL acct and dept. In our case, the classification changes based on what's being ordered and by which dept. instead of there being a specific classification based on the merchant.

One other thing to mention is that both implicit categorization and expense rules are applied separately for each user. So if the same user is purchasing items for multiple departments, it wouldn't work for you, but if each department is purchasing their own items, then implicit categorization could work well!
