Check out our brand new Bank of America connection!

Great news -- as part of the ExpensifyApproved! Banks program, we've upgraded our Bank of America card feed connection with a new API to provide a more reliable connection for our users! We will be completely removing the old Bank of America feed on March 20th, so please check out the instructions below on how to transition to the new connection soon.
Please note that the instructions provided below apply to individual users with personal Bank of America cards and companies importing their cards via direct bank connection. If your company cards are imported via a CDF or VCF feed no action is required on your end.
Before deleting your old connection please make sure that all the transactions previously imported to your Expensify account are added to reports and submitted. When you delete a card, all unsubmitted expenses from that transaction feed will be deleted. Expenses that have been added to a submitted/closed report will remain in your account.
Personal Card Import
To avoid a disruption in service please update your Bank of America connection by the end of January. On the Expensify website navigate to Settings > Your Account > Credit Card Import > Import Card/Bank and choose the Bank of America connection.
Once successfully synced, make sure to delete your old Bank of America connection to avoid importing duplicate expenses. Just a quick tip here, before deleting your old connection please make sure that all the transactions previously imported to your Expensify account are added to reports and submitted. When you delete a card, all unsubmitted expenses from that transaction feed will be deleted. Expenses that have been added to a submitted/closed report will remain in your account.
Company Card Import
To avoid a disruption in service your company will need to update the Bank of America Company Cards connection by the end of January. The following steps can only be completed by a Domain Admin.
On the Expensify website navigate to Settings > Domain Control > Company Cards > Import Card/Bank and choose the Bank of America connection.
Make sure to start a new connection here (as opposed to "Assign new cards"):
And select the Bank of America option:
Once the integration is set up you can delete the old Bank of America connection to avoid importing duplicate expenses. Then assign the individual cards back to users accounts from the Company Cards page.
Just a quick tip here, before deleting your old connection please make sure that all the transactions previously imported to users Expensify accounts are added to reports and submitted. When a card is deleted, all unsubmitted expenses from that transaction feed will be deleted. Expenses that have been added to a submitted/closed report will remain in users' accounts.
Happy expensing!

Are there instructions for how to delete the old Bank of America connection? I could not find the option to do so on the desktop app or help pages.

Hey @DZD, thanks for posting to the Community! I checked your account and see that your Bank of America cards are imported via Domain Control. It looks like you were able to delete the old connection because all I can see now is the new and upgraded one:
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hello- When can we expect expenses to begin importing into the accounts with this new feed? I have followed the instructions and added the "New and Upgraded" feed and assigned two cards to two users (including myself), but neither she nor I can see any expenses automatically added to our account at this time. Thanks!

Hi @MichaelLynch Welcome to the Expensify Community!
We have seen this with a few users, and we have an open engineering case. If you haven't already, can you please email [email protected] so we can add you to it?

What's the best way for us to avoid duplicates? I'm not sure how I can get all my users to submit their open expense reports and then make the reassignment. Is there a way to push this sort of action across the entire company?
-
Hey @darylgremlin! I recommend that users submit their Open reports with credit card transactions first, then you can unassign the cards under the old connection and link the new and upgraded one.
Please note that you will need to unassign the cards individually, there isn't a way to push this action across the company.
Let me know if you have questions and I will be happy to help!
-
Understood, my point is that this is difficult with a lot of users in various time zones/vacations. I think that duplicates are inevitable at this point.

Hi @darylgremlin, any policy admin can submit the reports your employee's haven't yet, which means you shouldn't lose any expenses when removing the connection.
Can you confirm that your company's cards are importing via Domain Control > Company Cards? If so, you can connect both accounts at the same time and when you assign the cards from the updated connection you can choose the start date for expenses to import for each card. If you match this start date to the start of the most recent statement employee's need to report, you should be able to remove the old cards and assign the new ones without getting duplicates.
Cheers!

yep, we're in domain control. That should work!

Okay great! If you run into questions let us know, otherwise have a great week!

I saw someone else asked this, but don't see instructions. Are there instructions for how to delete the old Bank of America connection? Both connections (new and old) are now showing up under Domain Control > Company Cards, and I am not sure how to delete the old one.
-
I am also unable to assign cards under the "new and upgraded" connection. When I try, I get this error:

@dtepley can I get you to email into [email protected] about this? We don't want to troubleshoot such a sensitive subject (banking) in a public forum! Thanks!

Before and after this new feed, card expenses are not loading for the full statement period. We are missing everything prior to Dec 10th. Has anyone had this issue?
Also, shouldn't expenses be grouped by statement period?Expensify community, our roll out is not going anywhere due to poor customer support, any advice on how I can request proper attention to an issue other than copy paste from the guidance that is already available? if anyone has been successful with getting proper customer support, please advise.

Hi @Guli, thanks for reaching out. I took a look and see you have a few ongoing conversations with my team and have received a few different responses today. I'm going to reach out via email so we can work on this together.
-
Hi Sheena, unfortunately, I am here because email support didn't get us anywhere. We need tangible support beyond copy/paste. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

As everyone here, I've been unable to sync any expense since I tried the new and upgraded Bank of America connection. I've been asking for help since thursday last week and I'm still helpless. My support agent is seeing my messages and not even answering. This is such a critical point on our business and in the worst time when we are closing 2018 Fiscal Year in several of our foreign branches. I really need this issue to be solved NOW.
-
Hey @Guli and @Sebastian_Austral, thanks for posting to the Community and sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the new connection! Since we are transitioning from the old to the new connection, users might experience temporary issues when trying to connect their cards.
Our engineers are working on all the reported cases to make sure that the transition will happen as smoothly as possible. Please note that bank issues cannot be troubleshooted in the Community because we need to exchange bank information and such. I appreciate if you can continue the communication via email with our team at [email protected]!
Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a quick note here to let you know that this announcement will be closed for further comments.
The reason why we're closing it is because we cannot troubleshoot bank issues in the Community. To provide some context, in order for us to investigate any bank issues along with our engineers, we need to request users to share their personal and bank information. This can only be done via email for obvious reasons!
Please also note that Bank of America as well as other banks occasionally make changes to their server's/code/etc. for security reasons, since they are dealing with valuable and confidential information. Rarely would they give us a heads up on said changes, which sometimes results in broken connections where our engineers will have to try and resolve, mostly in cooperation with the banks. The case that we are experiencing here with the new BoA connection is one of them!
Several users are experiencing issues when trying to switch to the new and upgraded connection and our engineers are working to solve this asap in collaboration with Bank of America.
Please reach out to [email protected] for further questions! Thanks!
