Integrating QBO and Expensify

Ok so I have my Quickbooks Online (QBO) account synced with my Expensify Account.
Also, my QBO account is set up where it automatically pulls transactions from my bank/credit card accounts.
Is there a way to prevent me from classifying everything on both platforms? Currently, if I classify/categorize a transaction on Expensify, it does not automatically update that transaction on the QBO side.
I am sure there is an easier way, I just need help. Thanks!

@sjdemetriou3 When you are importing your credit cards directly into QuickBooks, you will want to do all of your coding in Expensify and export those before adding the transactions in QuickBooks.
As long as these steps are done in the correct order, they will merge once you add them in QuickBooks and the classifications should be present.

Thank you, will the copies/pictures of receipts also merge into Quickbooks?

That's correct @sjdemetriou3, we're able to export the images along with your export as long as they don't go over 25MB. (If the export is larger than this, no images will be exported with the report).

So I am following @Nicole Trepanier 's guidance. I code everything in QB, and then successfully export Expensify report to QBO (as per the Expensify notification). Then when I go back to QBO, I still have to manually classify everything and add the transactions manually. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi @sjdemetriou3, thanks for getting back to us here! It looks like you're not exporting from Expensify prior to adding your transactions in QuickBooks Online. This is the reason they aren't merging.
The transactions you're seeing there will be the ones from the feed in QuickBooks, not the ones exported from Expensify (which will already be coded as they were in Expensify).

Thanks @Ted Peeters. So how do I properly export from Expensify to QBO in order to ensure these get merged properly?
