Can an Approver have a Copilot Approver?

You can see my other question for the background. I know employees/submitters can have "Copilots" to manage and submit expense reports on their behalf. But would a Copilot to an employee who happens to be an Approver have the same approval rights as the that employee ("Copilotee")? Or is there a way to give a single user (Finance) the ability to approve reports on behalf of the "person" the report was submitted to?

Thanks for reaching out! With Copilots, you act on behalf of the other account, so you have the same access/limitations. For example, let's have employee A be a Policy Admin and employee B be a Policy Member.

If A Copilots into B's account, A does not have access to the policy settings. This is because they are working in B's account, and can see what B sees. Once A goes back into their account, they will be able to have their normal functionality back.

Same idea works for approvers. If A is an approver, but B is not, when A works in B's account, they will not be able to approve reports.

Hopefully this helps! If not, feel free to reach out to concierge@expensify.com, and our dedicated Success Team will be glad to help!
