Using VSTO to get data from API

I quite like using Expensify but I would love to be able to automate Expensify data in a spreadsheet!

We are using VSTO to connect with the API in order to dump the data into Excel. The examples listed on https://integrations.expensify.com/Integration-Server/doc/ seem to be geared for a different environment for more web development purposes.

An example of simply connecting VSTO with the API to have any data in Excel would really get me out of a rut. Thank you!
