Hi @Cole1995, good question! There are two settings that control the automatic submission of reports depending on the type of account setup you have. The feature that controls this is called Scheduled Submit and it can be configured or disabled as you need.

    Individual policy

Head to Settings PoliciesIndividual [Individual policy] ReportsScheduled Submit and check to see if Schedule Submit is enabled and at what frequency.

You can click the green toggle to disable it entirely or you can change the frequency in which your reports are submitted so that it better fits your workflow.

    Group policy

If you're using Expensify for your company and submitting reports to an admin, you'll most likely need to ask your admin to adjust or disable the settings. They will be the only individuals with the access needed to do so and can tell you more about the decision to use Scheduled Submit.

If you are a policy admin, you can find these settings from Settings > Policies > Group [Policy Name] > Reports > Scheduled Submit.

    Cheers!

Unless you have a free account in which case you aren't allowed to change it from weekly autosubmit which is the single most frustrating part of the Free Account.

Why isn't the reporting set to autosubmit on a normal interval like Monthly instead of weekly? We expense report monthly so we have to reopen reports 3 times each month.

Thank you @BilltheArchitect ! I have searched this completely insane annoying problem for months. Nowhere that I have ever seen had the info you shared about the free version shortcomings.

Hi @Stevishere, welcome to our Community.

I'm sorry that you had trouble looking for this information! This is covered in our Free Plan FAQ, which I am linking here for anyone else who is looking for more information on our Free Plan.

It looks like Scheduled Submit is set to weekly on the Free Plan, can I change this?

No. Expense reports submitted on the Free Plan are set to submit weekly and do not allow for approvals.

I hope this FAQ helps answer any other questions you may have, but if not please reach out here or via your Concierge chat box in Expensify.

Thanks Kadie, does Expensify have an answer for why they have set the free plan to submit weekly, automatically with no option to change? It goes against every accounting system I've ever seen.

(And it isn't Free btw, Expensify is making a % off every dollar we spend)
